Cat., Paris, Galeries nationales, Grand Palais, 2010.― 498 ―ジューの時禱書（エジャートンの時禱書）》にバルテルミー・デックによって描き加えられる「死者としてのルネ王」〔図10〕のようなメメント・モリの表現に受け継がれてゆくことになると言えるだろう。また、それより先に〈ジアックの画家〉と〈ロアンの画家〉により制作されていたもう一方の《ルネ・ダンジューの時禱書》に見られる、ルネの肖像がエンゲル・ピエタを礼拝する見開きの挿絵〔図11〕は、後の初期ネーデルラント絵画の二連画を思わせるものである。二連画形式の見開きの挿絵は《ブリュッセルの時禱書》（注30）に先行例があり、二連画形式でなくとも、「聖母子」や「三位一体」などの挿絵の中に礼拝する写本所有者の姿が描き込まれる先例は珍しくない。しかし礼拝者が図像内に跪く全身像ではなく、独立した肖像画として表された先例はない。中世末期のアンジュー宮廷、すなわちヨランドとルネの前半生を彩った写本芸術は、終末と死が迫る中で救済を祈るためのイメージという時代の要請に応える造形表現ゆえに、個人用の祈禱書である時禱書のプライヴェートで観想的な性格を一層助長し、祈念画の展開につながる表現様式を示すことになったのである。Villela-Petit, I., “Les Heures de Jeanne du Peschin, dame de Giac.
