The copies are then arranged by type: kyōsetsu （Buddhist texts）, engi and reigen （stories of the founding of temples and accounts of miraculous events）, kōsōden （biographies of celebrated monks）, monogatari, setsuwa, and kassen （narrative tales, stories from the oral tradition, and war narratives）, otogi zōshi （15th– early 17th century narratives）, kasen and uta’awase （poets and poetry contests）, giga and fūshi （caricature and satire）, and others.
